Al-based Attacks Hit India’s Manufacturing Sector: Seqrite Report

Al-based cyberattacks are rising against Indian manufacturing units, increasing the threat of production stoppage and supply chain breakdowns.

The number of attacks is unprecedented, according to the Seqrite India Cyber Threat Report 2026, which studied the data from October 2024 to September 2025.

Seqrite registered 265.52 million threat detections on over 8 million endpoints across the country-an average of over 500 incidents per minute. The engineering and manufacturing sector alone accounted for 3.79 million threat detections, or about 14.22 percent of the total number of cases. The sector was among the top three most attacked sectors, along with the education and healthcare sectors, which comprised nearly half of the total number of cyber incidents.
